Say it ain’t so, Sarah

Lucy enjoyed Sarah’s visit immensely and was not happy to see her
leave. But she knew that Jed was eager to have her back home.

Sarah knows how to perfectly time everything because she just missed
Brendan by a few hours. He was vying for my attention when Lucy
started cooing at him. I think he stopped smiled at her for the first
time. I asked him if that didn’t melt his heart.

By the end of the evening, he admitted that Lucy had, in the terms of
Brendan’s distant mentor The Pick-up Artist, demonstrated higher
value. I wonder how much of it has to do with her preferred posture of
leaning back.
