High Point Doll and Miniature Museum
Tuesday was quite a dreary day and Lucy was still recovering from her first pre-k cold. So we headed over to High Point’s Doll and Miniature Museum, which is closing at the end of the month. I loved this first doll for its sculptural qualities.
Then we were lucky enough to see the entire Madame Alexander Wizard of Oz collection. Lucy even identified Miss Piggy in this first scene. To give you a clue, Miss Piggy is the Wicked Witch on the back left, followed by the flying monkey, the apple tree with Dorothy and Toto in front of the witch.
Here is Glenda, the Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow and Tin man on the back row with the munchkins sitting in front.
Finally here is the mean old neighbor on her bicycle with Dorothy’s house. We had a lot of fun checking out the dolls at the museum. It is a true gem and very sad that it is closing. Dolls are already been packed in boxes. But plenty are still on display. I believe September 29th is the last day.
