Favorite Doll Contest
As part of my consulting with Barnsley, she suggested that we use a few of Lucy’s favorite things while going through the routine of going to sleep. That is great. I love that idea, except Lucy is only attached to me. She doesn’t really suck her thumb. She gave up her paci months ago. And I still can’t peg which doll is her favorite. So…
I have started attaching her pacifier to her clothes. Periodically she will pick it up and chew on the side or stick it on her thumb and chew on her shielded thumb. Her love for her paci died when I gave her the 3months+ place.
When you are pregnant and registering for everything thing at a giant baby store, you have no idea what the difference is between the newborn paci and the three months plus. Let me fill you in on a secret. The older age paci is harder. If your baby likes her paci, DO NOT CHANGE IT. I think that it is just a ploy to sell more products. Enough of that rant…
I do have two favorites down pat. One is her favorite book, which was also my favorite book from church, Baby Animals by Gyo Fujikawa.

Baby Animals by Gyo Fujikawa
Her favorite blanket, selected by me, is my new favorite baby shower gift if you so happen to be registered at Target.
This blanket is super soft and warm. It is also a soft white so it goes with everything. The last mom I bought it for was registered for a pink blanket. Her selected blanket was sold out. Fortunately for her! Because when you are having a girl, you receive A LOT of pink. And I love pink. But what if you have a boy later on? And what if your pinks clash? There are a lot of different factors to consider. This is a great baby blanket that feels wonderful and isn’t too babyish. It is clean, modern, fresh and fun. Now, I am not sure if we will have to switch to a summer weight blanket. Maybe…
So now we get to the dolls. I just can’t tell how she feels about them. But I have included her top contenders and few a sleepers lurking on the shelf to win grand prize.
First there is her very first baby Yupik
Yupik’s bigger friend, Inoo Lala
and again…

I’m going to say the orange pom-pom is too distracting.
Then there is Baby Huggums. This is a video of their first encounter.
Sleeper cells include:
Lovey (I’ve been calling him Rolf.)

I believe Lovey has a great shot for winning this thing!
Then there is one of my favorites, Lia’s Owl. Although I hope it’s not the winner for traveling purposes.
And Winnie…

Lucy finds Pooh in her stocking
Although there was some love lost once she demolished and consumed the tag on the way back to Washington.
And finally, Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Sooth & Glow PINK Seahorse from Tony
This one is also a close contender. She loves the seahorse’s silky mane and she knows how to turn on the music by herself.
Whew… That’s a big selection.
My pick is Yupik. She is the smallest and least likely to wake me in a hotel room. But we will see what she picks and if I can figure out how to discern her choice.
P.S. The pictures that are from previous posts in my blog link to the original entry. Enjoy! So hard to believe that Lucy was ever that small! She is 41 weeks old today! Wow…
