Craft Project: Clouds
We typically spend the morning at home and do a little craft project, sing, read books and play. Last week, I wanted a super simple project and decided to try creating clouds.
I found a picture of some clouds in a 2009 Real Simple.
I flipped the page over and cut it out with an Exacto knife. But you could also carefully tear it out.
Then I sat Lucy down with a purple, washable glue stick, a bag of cotton balls and the photo from the magazine. I think it helped having the magazine to introduce the new material of cotton balls. She instantly got it.
And she got to work. At one point, she held the cotton balls over head and said, “Clouds!” Of course, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect.
She returned to this project several times over the last few days. I have the materials in a shoe box on her desk. And I’m happy that the cotton balls are getting some use after years of neglect. In elementary school, Henry sang a song about stale cotton balls. These definitely fall into that category.
