Club 575: Mark Your Calendars
I still have plans to reveal the THS for Club 575 with my launch of Paper Notion in the next week or so. I was excited to read this announcement that Alex sent to me this morning.
100 Bridges: Haiku North America 2007 coming to Winston-Salem
Winston-Salem will be the host city for the biennial Haiku North America (HNA), a long weekend full of papers, panels, workshops, readings, performances, book sales, and socialization with fellow poets, translators, scholars, editors, and publishers. The event will be held August 15-19 and is the largest gatherings of haiku poets in the United States and Canada. This will be the first time the conference will be held in the Southeast.
HNA 2007 will have more than 50 presenters from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan. Special guests include Sonia Sanchez and Kalamu ya Salaam.
For the Haiku North America conference, join us in exploring the ways that haiku serves as a bridge between the past and the present, between perception and intuition, poetry and other arts to name a few connections. Each workshop or presentation at the conference can be an active and engaging bridge that leads us to new understanding, crosses over barriers, and connects us more closely to each other and to the art form of haiku. A number of these events are offered as bridges between haiku and Winston- Salem
All events will be held at the Sawtooth Building in downtown Winston-Salem. For more information about the events contact Bob Moyer at 577-6371, rpmoyer100@aol.com or visit http://www.haikunorthamerica.com/
