We are finally back!
As of this morning, we have been traveling for the last seven weeks solid. We did have a brief period when we were home last Tuesday afternoon until Thursday morning. But we started the car for the first time since late July and headed for North Carolina for an extended weekend. I had my official last day at NECTAC on Friday, which ended with my last caring event. (I was officially laid off as a result of extensive federal budget cuts.)
We left Carrboro for Durham for the beginning of Lauren and Dave’s wedding weekend. It was so great to spend time with Sarah and Eric, our hosts. And I loved reuniting with several of the old DoubleTake cast members – Nia, Kyle and Caroline.
Other weekend highlights include homecoming at church, reorganizing my parents’ study despite protests by my father, a family cookout and mailing out the first issue of MerriMail. Surprisingly, we made it back for book club tonight.
So I have finally put away my suitcase for good. (Well, at least for the next two weeks.) And I thought that I would write a quick blog entry before going to bed. It is nice to be back. I am hoping that my desire to take a nap at really strange times will vanish by the end of the week.
Henry has been working on creating a DVD of our photos and videos for the last two days. I really hope that there is a way to create a quick web page out of his work so that I can post some pictures tomorrow.

Welcome home, Caroline! We missed you.
