The Red Swing Project

Thanks to KaBOOM! for introducing me to the blog, Playscapes via Twitter.

The blog is full of stunning examples of playgrounds all around the world. But since it is going to take a while (Think 3 years and $1.5 million.) for Downtown DC to have a finished playground, I am in awe of tiny bits of play that can easily transform a space. Like this genius project The Red Swing Project, which sprung up out of Austin, Texas in 2007.

THE RED SWING PROJECT ANONYMOUSLY HANGS RED SWINGS IN PUBLIC PLACES WORLDWIDE INFUSING PLAYFULNESS IN THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT.

Awesome.
