Still on Staycation
We are still vacationing this week. We hit the big cities of NC before returning to DC for the rest of the week. We originally planned to end the week in NYC, but decided to clean out our closets instead.
We spent some time in both Greensboro and Winston before leaving mom’s on Tuesday. On Wednesday we went “home” to Carrboro, which I realized I miss dearly. The days in the cinderblock apartment with Sherri were the best. Plus I had the most delicious coffee from the award-winning barista at Open Eye Cafe. Hard to imagine you used to rent chairs for your wedding from that place. And our front yard is now a garden center. We wandered around aimlessly before visiting Jed and Macon in Raleigh. All of those pics are on my real camera, but Sarah captured some cute shots during snack time. Then we were off to visit with a few more fellas in North Raleigh – Weston and Brenner. Lucy even managed to drive their Escalade before bedtime. And she had a total face plant chasing a ball down the hill. But she survived with just a few scratches on her forehead and nose.
Wednesday we decided to skip a stop in Durham and spent more time in Richmond on Cary Street. We ate a delicious lunch at Can Can. Then Henry hung out at Cartwheels and Coffee with Lucy while I browsed through the little shops on Cary Street. So great. Yesterday we spent most of the day at home. Henry took Lucy out to the park while I cleaned out our bathroom closet. Later that afternoon we went to the Farmers Market. It was delightful. Today we went to Georgetown for lunch and new shoes! I am so excited about them. Lots more to do on our staycation. It’s been nice having Henry at home.
