Scenes from Our First Parade
This past Saturday ended up being a beautiful day for our first Downtown DC Kids parade. We collected lots of signatures for our petition while zig-zagging down through Penn Quarter. We slowly made our way towards the National Book Festival on the Mall. We stopped in front of the National Portrait Gallery and at the Navy Memorial to talk to interested people.
The balloons were a huge success and attracted a lot of attention throughout the day. One take away from the day: more balloons!
Yesterday, I ventured out in my green t-shirt in attempt to make it to the Solar Decathalon. The person working the register at the National Museum of American History recognized our shirts from Saturday’s parade. I was excited that she noticed and we had a great conversation about the need for playgrounds in Downtown DC.
T-shirts are still available for anyone who is interested. They are in Calvary’s main office, which is located at 755 8th Street NW. The office is open generally open all of the time. Please feel free to stop by and pick up t-shirts for your family.
