We are at Gramms’ house for almost a week. We arrived yesterday before the storms. Although thanks to our local news anchor, I was going to skip traveling at all on Thursday. Henry looked up weather.com and pointed out that he thought I could make it.
We hung around the office long enough that the storms came through with a tornado warning. Lucy, Emily and I found our safe place in the bathroom. We are safe.
Today brought much more excitement. First she almost climbed to the top of the stairs on her very first attempt. Her only other stair interaction involved climbing one stair up onto the altar at church. It was not an altar call. We just spend too much time at church.
I started to video her after taking the top picture. She quit pretty much as soon as I started. Maybe she was exhausted. I’m hoping it will help her sleep better tonight. She showed Alex how she could crawl again tonight.
Since Lucy is so close to walking, we bought her a pair of new white sandals. She had a great time trying them on. She even loved the squeakers that squeak with each step. I wasn’t crazy about the idea. Fortunately she is a size two and the squeakers start at size three. We are safe for now.
She continues to love shoes. Last week I put a pair of black patent leather driving moccasins on her. They are hand-me-downs and too big at this point. I took them off of her and she picked up and placed it on top of her foot. I told Henry this could be a bad sign. She also loves to look at any ruffles on her sleeves. She maybe a girly girl.
We are excited about wearing the new shoes tomorrow out to the playground. We miss Dad and hopes he has a safe business trip to Vegas.
