Name Collection: Jolly Holiday
I’ve always been fascinated by collections of names. And since they take up little closet space, I believe they are a perfect collection for me. Plus, now I need a name for the baby. I knew Lucy’s name several years before her arrival. But I am pretty clueless at this point. The meaning of names are very important to me. So sometimes, I may like a name, but it means wounded warrior. Well, that one is out. (I just made that meaning up! But you get my drift.) Enjoy my new series!
My first is from Mary Poppins. Lucy just sang, “It’s a jolly holiday with you Bert” forty times, while strolling with her parasol hand-in-hand with her abuelo. I thought maybe I should look up the words to accompany them with a few more words.
And Prudence and Gwendolyn set your ‘eart spinning
Phoebe’s delightful, Maude is disarming
Janice, Felicia, Lydia – charming
Cynthia’s dashing, Vivian’s sweet
Stephanie’s smashing, Priscilla a treat
Veronica, Millicent, Agnes, and Jane
Convival company, time and again
Dorcas and Phyllis and Glynis are sorts
I’ll agree are three jolly good sports
But cream of the crop, tip of the top
It’s Mary Poppins, and there we stop!
