Loved The Magnetic Fields

We went to see The Magnetic Fields last night at Lisner Auditorium at GWU. This is the second time we have seen them. They were fabulous. I was especially thrilled when they played my favorite song “All My Little Words.” And thanks to the power of YouTube, you too can sing it all day long.

By the end of the show, I was wondering if they were going to play “Washington, DC” since we were in fact in Washington, DC. I didn’t see a snare drum anywhere so I thought the chances were pretty limited. Fortunately, we did hear one verse of the song from Claudia Gonson as the band regrouped during the encore. But in case you want to hear the whole thing, along with the snare drums and a slide show of DC…

As part of the stage banter, Claudia raved about the stage manager, who would always play music in between sets that referenced previous discussions. I think that I will take a moment to do the same. Here is a quick look back at a previous blog entry about The House of Tomorrow, in reference to The Magnetic Fields’ URL. You have already watched two videos. Why not watch four more? It’s Monday.
