Happy Halloween!
Our little shrimp tempura made it about a half hour before I couldn’t stand the runny paint anymore. She never fussed for a second. Henry said the more wrinkled the Tyvek became the more she actually looked like the shrimp.
But now she just looks a little dirty. Hmmm… I should have added something like PVA that would make sure my watercolors would stick. Or used acrylic paint. But these paints are non-toxic, I promise.
I wanted to create a costume to go with our tried and true stand-bys of tuna nigiri sushi. In the middle picture, you can see that Lucy wore a white onesie, black pants and wasabi green socks.
Just in case you are wondering, this last picture is of the costume flat. I just added a little brad to hold it together once I had it wrapped around her. Now that is not kid-tested, mother-approved. But we survived.
Happy First Birthday, Silas! You’re a cute little Yoda. And Happy Birthday, Matt!
