Happy Belated Fourth!

We watched the fireworks across form the checkpoint from the Washington Monument. After the Inauguration, I was not about to head into a sea of people and then leave with all of them at once, while pushing a child in a stroller. So we found a wide grassy spot, which Lucy loved! She spent a few minutes singing in the rain with my umbrella. Although it wasn’t really raining. But she came in close once the fireworks started. She was not a fan. She was not hysterical, but more whimpering. We left after a few pictures and beat the rush home. So glad, we did not stick with our friends. Good call, Mom!
