Christmas Sights around the Capital

We are packed and ready to go to NC. Once Henry gives me the call, we are out the door. I hope that we can make it out of our alley!

This is what it looked like on Saturday in the snow. (Unfortunately, the palm trees have survived the weight of the snow.) It reminded me of a scene from Ezra Jack Keat‘s The Snowy Day, without all of the color. This was one of my childhood favorites and now I love and appreciate his collages even more.

As we head south from our nation’s capital, check out some shots from our holiday outing with Will and Shannon from a couple of week’s ago. We enjoyed visiting the Capitol Tree followed by the White House Tree.
