Book art at Spine and Crown Books

Nothing draws up winding stairs in a used book store faster than signs
of book art. I loved these torn pages adorning the walls of Spine and
Crown Books on Pine Street in Capitol Hill.

The dress features hand written magic markers. The installation on the
left features stamped letters. I love the use of red on old yellowed
pages of text.

Another gallery on Pine featured handmade papers with graph paper
embedded in it and topped with drawings. This got my wheels a turning.
We are making paper next week in class. I have so many more ideas of
what I want to use. And for me, that’s what vacation is all about.
