We are eighty percent complete with our Christmas decorations. Alex came over on Sunday night and helped us with the tree. I had asked Lucy to pose while arranging the garland, but she took off.
There seems to be a concentration of ornaments near three feet.
I do not believe the garland will survive. I have taken it down. It is reused fortunehearts from many, many moons ago.
I have been trying in earnest to coax Lucy into creating this stained glass paper chain. I thought the adorable tot at work might help. I have the contact paper and tissue paper squares all ready. I think I’ll get started without her and see if she joins in.
Lucy has been in an unusual funk since her visit to Grandma’s on Saturday. It involves a lot of tummy pain, whining and standing on her head. I do not know what it is. But it is driving me crazy. If we are alone together, she wants me to hold her. And that is what I’m doing right now- holding her while she sleeps. This is day two of an afternoon nap in our house, which has not happened in almost a year. Yesterday her nap lasted for six hours! So no telling how long this one will last. Too bad, I drove Henry to work after lunch.
Aside from the garland, locating a tree topper and skirt, we need to hang our Christmas balls. Someone mentioned a neighbor was using a lighting engineer. So this morning we pulled out the cables I haphazardly bought and attempted a plan. Henry’s wise words of wisdom were to check out a neighbor’s tree. I believe this one was engineered. Wow. We need a how-to manual with our inherited lights. But I think we have a plan and only need two more cables and no returns. That feels like an eighty percent success.
