All Clear
Oliver had his first eye exam a couple of weeks ago to the free InfantSEE Program. I wasn’t ready to keep up with an infant in glasses, but I was pleased to hear that Oliver’s eyes were great. He is a little far-sighted, but that is normal for his age.
Earlier this month, Lucy had her four-month checkup with her glasses. The doctor shared that her vision had improved from 20/40 to 20/20 and 20/25 in her right eye. She still has an astigmatism, so I don’t get how that impacts her vision and determines her ability to read letters or fine lines. Her doctor is super quiet, which Lucy loves. I guess I should drill him more. He said it takes a long time to improve your astigmatism, at least a year.
My eye doctor said Lucy would always wear glasses based on how terrible my vision is. But I was thrilled that her vision had improved. I would give anything for mine to improve, which was why I was motivated to have Oliver’s checked now. The sooner, the better.
I will definitely follow up around the three-year mark. And feeding them both lots of carrots in the meantime.
