a balloon, not a ball and chain

This summer we caught Paris, Je T’Aime at E Street Cinema. It was a treat to revisit Paris through this collection of short films. The collection felt more like the theater than a movie. I found myself wishing that I had a written program in hand to help guide me through the stories.

Although this short, Parc Monceau, was not my favorite, it included one of my favorite quotes from the summer. I was quite uncomfortable throughout this conversation down the street since I had no way of understanding the relationship between the two. Yet the clip reveals quite a beautiful sentiment.

This YouTube clip presents an interesting mix of languages with the original French and English, plus another language that I do not recognize for subtitles. But it is absolutely worth the four minutes to see this surprise ending.

Eris inspired me to search for it, as we discussed the changes that life is bringing right around the corner.

I’m not sure, but I think I recognized some of those words in the subtitles from bossa nova lyrics. It must be portugese.

I was thinking that, too. Very close to Spanish, but not quite.

I am coming to WS this weekend. Maybe I’ll run into you.
