Our birthday house in NC

I have had some memorable birthdays. Like the time I flailed around the baptismal pool on my 13th birthday. Or when I worked on an group project until six am on my 21st birthday. Or when I had a baby shower on my 35th birthday. This birthday falls into that category.

We closed today on a new house in Greensboro, NC, where we will be moving in late May. I now have a front yard, back yard, patio and studio above the garage, as well as a 1920s brick Tudor in the midst of all those great things. I am very excited to say the least.

We are moving here because Henry has accepted a position as a law professor. It was a pretty hectic fall while he was interviewing with and visiting schools, but we wound up deciding to come home. He’s excited about teaching, and Lucy is excited about the many birds and inchworms she’s already seen in her new yard with her Grandma. And as much as Lucy and I love DC, our friends, and our church family, I couldn’t have dreamed of a better birthday present than returning to North Carolina. More house pics soon!
